Because it's only $2, I'm going to give it a thumbs up. But just barely. On the one hand, this is really a great little fairy tale VR game. I loved it. It's truly magical. On the other hand, nothing on the Steam pages prepares you for the fact that you just paid for "part 1" and that the ending is... bad... confusing... a cliffhanger? I'm not even sure. I don't even understand how it connects to the rest of the game entirely. Also, there is a nasty bug that resets your score to a lower number even if you got everything. I was at 94% before the conclusion, then (afraid I missed something) went back and made sure I got all the paintings. Doing this dropped my score to 79%. Turns out the ending itself is the last 6%. So I had completed everything but failed to score it. I also found it annoying that , when replaying, you can't skip past the vocals. It's probably worth $2 however to see such an interesting take on how to use VR to produce a magical tale. But I hope the creators make the ending more meaningful and fix the problems I mentioned.. to be clear, the bar for me with good vr games is "chair in a room, paranormal activity, the gallery eps1 and 2, and the early demo of Nevrosa. These are all games which i will glady recomend to anyone this game is fantastic, music is incredible too.The world it puts u in feels like a mix of where the wild things are with pans labyrynth and a lion witch and the wardrobe.u will not be dissapointedfor a first delve into vr games bravo to the dev team well worth the money , and they only negative is that now i have to wait for the next 2 games to come out :). 4\/10I wanted to like this game, but there just doesn't seem to be anything likning with anything else. As a narrative experience, it doesn't make much narrative sense. As a puzzle game, it is trial and error much of the time and the puzzles don't fit together into a coherent whole. The game is ultimately very frustrating. For example, I worked on a puzzle so that I could "enter the forest" and encounter "monsters," but after completing it, I am transported back to the house where I appear to be following footsteps, except the footsteps don't go anywhere remotely connected with the next puzzle or the next piece in the story. This is ultimately perplexing and not fun. Also, at less than 90 minutes it is way too short.. An enchanting little game. As much as relaxing VR experience wandering through the eyes of a child as it is a fun puzzle game. The devs really captured a heart that's missing from so many narrative driven games.. I'm about a third of the way through, but man, what a wonderful, elegant little game. There's heart and soul in this one - and I've enjoyed basking in it.Plus, it's full of clever little mechanics. Very atmospheric. Well worth the time and the money.. An enchanting little game. As much as relaxing VR experience wandering through the eyes of a child as it is a fun puzzle game. The devs really captured a heart that's missing from so many narrative driven games.. I really wanted to like this but I'm very disappointed in it. Paid $5 and feel like I should have been paid instead for bothering to try it. Wouldn't recommend it even on it's current $1 sale. The fairy tale portions are OK story and pretty decent voice acting. But that's about it. It's very short ~ 1- 2hrs depending if you want to search for all the drawings (I'm missed a few and couldn't care less). The detail and world interactions are minimal. The controls are some of the most awkward I've seen: (look down and "point" to see footsteps to teleport), unclear interaction points and button triggers, no in game listing of controls, the absolute worst audio player (and that's a common interaction in VR) using arbitrary stick directions, no rotation mechanism, etc.The description and reviews read like a very short Myst with a more relatable story. It isn't. That hype matches the actual game even less well than the initial release of No Man's Sky."Explore and find all the pieces of the story in order to expose the truth."- I'm missing a few, but there's no real plot. Just some dis-jointed musings. "expose the truth" implies some degree of "who done-it" that doesn't exist."What is really happening here?"- Nothing really. There's some hand-waving at something bigger but nothing to make the player care about it."Things are not always what they seem at first sight. You might miss clues and secrets if you are in a hurry. Clues and secrets that could save you down the road."- What do we need saved from in the first place?"Complex worlds with lots of secrets to uncover"- What? A few drawing and notes is hardly "secrets" and these worlds were basically a tiny path or room with about as basic a visual detail as you can be and have standard "realistic" graphics."Exploration, puzzles and play drive the narrative forward"- Sorry, a few arbitrary connect the dots (literally), a couple "find" the macguffin, arrange the scene cards (basically guess half and the others are obvious), basic riddle with multiple choice aren't "puzzles". Nor is this really a true exploration even of the level of Pollen or Wake the Glares (neither I recommend either).. A game that captures the whimsy of your favorite childhood fairytale, with some dark undertones. There's some really beautiful storytelling going on here, and a lot of attention to detail in the environment. Gameplay is light, but helps carry the story effectively. Really my biggest negative on the game is that it's very short. I got through a playthrough in about an hour (I don't rush). Yes, I understand theres probably a some more different things to discover on a second playthough, which I definitely intend to do. However, I think it's really important to support companies that are making projects like this so they can continue to grow and get better. This game is a little rough around the edges, but its obvious how much the studio cares about what they're doing and I will look forward to the next two parts. Support this game!
